Let's Give Thanks

Since this is Thanksgiving Day, if you're just dropping in between all the family, food, football, and fun, please, instead of commenting on the issues facing Bellevue, use this thread to tell how God has blessed you and what you're thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!

So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations. Psalm 79:13

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:18

Thank You, heavenly Father, for giving us You, Your love, and our daily lives. Thank you for family and friends, for the freedoms we so quickly take for granted, and for the grace you show us by letting us wake up every morning.

Please be with us Father, grant us a special measure of Your Spirit today and all through this time - and thank You that you WILL CONTINUE the good work you have begun in us through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thanks for this blog, been keeping up with it and this is a great idea for Thanksgiving. We all have SO much to be thankful for!

I thank the LORD for His unfailing love. I thank Him for my salvation from the penalty, the power, and the very presence of sin (only the first of which is fully realized so far!) All of this without any merit of mine.

I thank the LORD for my wife and children who love me through my many shortcomings.

I thank the LORD for His and our beloved Bellevue Baptist Church. I thank the LORD for each of you who earnestly contend for the faith!

I thank the LoRD for the blessings of liberty we share in America. I thank Him for the servicemen and women, past and present, who have sacrificed of themselves for us all. I thank the LORD for the police and firemen who daily protect us from harm.

There are so many more things that could be said........

Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen

Colossians 1:3-6

"We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints— the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth."

This was my blog post just before Thanksgiving last year. I think it still rings true for me a year later. May each of you and yours be greatly blessed today and every day.

11/23/2005 - Well....it's Thanksgiving

Man...i just got back from the grocery and boy was it packed. Of course when you wait till the last minute to shop for the holiday..what can you expect. I guess there's probably more weight gained from Thanksgiving through New Year's day, than any single period of time throughout the year. At least that would be my guess, judging from the loaded baskets in the checkout line...mine included. I was thinking as i stood in line....how blessed we are to live in this country. We not only are blessed with ENOUGH to eat....but an OVERabundance. In fact i would imagine that enough food is thrown out every day in America to feed a third world country. We Americans...and sadly even those of us in the church, sometimes take for granted the bounty that we've been blessed with. I pray that God would remind us this Thanksgiving that it is by His hand we enjoy these things...not because we deserve them...but because HE is good.
Speaking of things to be thankful for....a blog would not be sufficient space to record them all..but here's a few things i'm grateful to God for....a salvation that is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to God's glory alone. My daughter, my mother, the freedom to assemble for worship, more than enough food to eat, the health and stamina to work, an education, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, transportation, a roof over my head, clothes to wear, the air that i breath (i couldn't draw my next breath unless God ordained it so), the beauty, wonder and awe-inspiring intricacy of His creation.....on and on and on.......see?....not enough space...or words.

Thank you Lord for your faithfulness. You are always there.
You are always the same. Your truth is the unchanging truth. Thank you for your Holy Bible and the opportunity of salvation through Christ Jesus.
My mom, who had so little in material measures told me late in her life that her prayers were just of praise. Believing that through praise, God would know her heart and all burdens within
Today, I praise Almighty God. On his throne, creator of all. Only He knows what lies ahead. We are revealed the future moment by moment, with but one hope for the future. Jesus Christ.

He uses men today, to accomplish the future of tomorrow. Listen for the knock.

I give thanks for the faithful generations of Christians before us, unrecognized by history except for the faith passed on. If any generation had failed...........

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy ThanksGiving Day 2006

Dear Ones,

I greet you in the name above all names, JESUS, who is TRUTH!

We have so much to be thankful for because we are the blessed of the LORD!!!!

Brother Charles slipped out of bed early this morning to put our Thanksgiving Turkey in the oven and soon the aroma of Thanksgiving filled our home.

We had worked together the night before to put all our other dishes together so we could avoid giving too much attention to our Thanksgiving dinner preparation. We just wanted a simple day of giving thanks and being with our girls that is just what we had!!!

Before dinner we called our daughters to come and sit with us to hear the history behind Thanksgiving. We have a burning desire for them to always remember and understand how precious it is to have Religious Freedom and the price others have paid for what we now enjoy in America.

If you ask our daughters to define Pilgrims, one of the things they will tell you is that Pilgrims are BRAVE CHRISTIAN who risked their lives in order to find a place to worship Jesus freely.

When Pappa said our Thanksgiving prayer, He thanked GOD for the BRAVE CHRISTIANS that the LORD used to plant, water, and harvest HIS gospel throughout history and then, and as I looked up at him and he at me, we read each other`s thoughts.....SO, we began to thank the LORD for the BRAVE CHRISTIANS of today and we called some of them out by name....

MARK SHARPE AND JIM HAYWOOD were at the top of our list.

We are thankful for every walking epistle of Christ who loves the TRUTH enough to die for the TRUTH because Jesus is the TRUTH!

We ask the LORD to bless all of you who following the path of TRUTH and although we don`t know all of your names, the lORD does and I know he will bless you!

We ended our Thanksgiving prayers by praying for our church, our pastor, and all the leaders at our church. May the LORD visit them all with wisdom from on high and give them a new hunger and thirst for Righteousness so that they may be filled anew!

I also want to give thanks to the LORD for:

*The GOD of Abtaham, Issac, and Jacob who is from everlasting to everlasting.

*My Lord and Saviour, Jesus, who will never leave me or forsake me.

*The Holy Spirit who continually leads us into the TRUTH of Christ. Who teaches us discernment and the deeper things of GOD. Who calls all men unto Jesus. Who comforts us continually.

*God`s direction and protection

*A wonderful GOD-fearing husband who has been set over our family to lead us as he follows the LORD!

*Four Beautiful daughters who were orphaned and staring in Africa until the LORD took their pitiful little hands and placed them into ours.

*Friends- Our definition of a friend is this: Anyone who points, pushes,or prods us towards JESUS!

*GOD`s provision in our life

*Mercies that are new everyday

*Love

*Grace

*Forgiveness, Repentance and Reconciliation

*Our eternal Hume

and so much more!

I pray that each of you had a Wonderful, Christ-centered Thanksgiving!!!

Remember I love you!

Under HIS wings and in HIS love,

Sister Pam
