Troublemakers in the Church... or How to Throw a Tantrum!

Sunday night's sermon by Steve Gaines was yet another sheep beater. Why is this man so angry? He loudly and angrily implores people to be "peacemakers," but his definition of a "peacemaker" seems to be someone who'll never question "Pastor" or his agenda, no matter how innocently or politely, and never express any sort of disagreement with "God's anointed and appointed authority," namely Steve Gaines. And if you dare question him or hesitate to swallow and follow like a lemming off a cliff, you're automatically labeled a "troublemaker."
Watch him in action.

It seems at least some of the staff is carrying the torch, too. See the June 29th and July 6th "Morning Mullings" articles. As someone who read both articles said, it's amazing how some use (and misuse) the Old Testament to support an agenda. "They write to please their king and because they are taught to think like him, they probably really believe it." Sadly, that's the only explanation I can think of.

Dear Cakes,

I read your link with interest, about to admit my overreaction... until I saw those last four words.

That's scary.

Hey BBC Looks like your Buddy Gaines is coming to our territory.....

First reported on Purifythechurch.com comments section by us;

Look what I found. I see Woodstock Ga is about to be infested at the GBC convention on Nov. 9-10

Looks like the "Provoking" has spread.

Look who is coming to Dinner.

NOTICE the NAMES; BRUNSON - GAINES - HUNT - WHITE - AND THE ATTITUDE OF BUCKY KENNEDY. Only one missing is the Eversons, and I guarantee you they will have their noses stuck in this somewhere and somehow!

From the MEMO -

"Sunday night will start things off with great music from the First Baptist Woodstock Choir and then great preaching from Dr. J. Robert White and Dr. Johnny Hunt. Monday will keep the fires burning with the preaching conference that afternoon with David Platt, Mac Brunson, Adam Dooley, and Steve Gaines. Monday evening our convention gets underway and will conclude Tuesday evening with a celebration of state missions and a time of worship with Charles Billingsley and the Liberty University Praise Team.

To sign up for mission projects on Tuesday, please go to gabaptist.org and click on the “Love Loud, Light it Up” promo. I was recently asked if I was doing this in an attempt to draw a crowd at our convention this year, to which I responded, YES! A crowd of fired-up Georgia Baptists worshipping together, working together, and on mission together that we might glorify the Father and see souls saved. C’mon Georgia Baptist; let’s “LIGHT IT UP!”

Oh yeah, Bucky Kennedy is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Vidalia and president of the Georgia Baptist Convention who can not make decisions to sign something he agrees with "

Is that Sunday morning?

:o(

No, it was Wednesday night this week. However, don't be surprised if Sunday mornings at "11:11" end up resembling that. You'll probably never see SG wearing a Rick Warren Hawaiian shirt though. After all, Hawaiian shirts are {gasp!} flowered, and that would never be MANLY enough.

I remember a church one time where the pastor proclaimed from the pulpit that he was too "manly" to ever be caught dead in a pink shirt, nor would he let his then teen son wear a pink shirt. He was talking about something like a pastel pink dress shirt, not ruffles and bows. (I seem to recall SG wearing a pink dress shirt a few times, so even he doesn't seem to be as insecure as this guy was.) The next Wednesday night all the deacons showed up for their meeting wearing... pink shirts! Suffice it to say, the "manly man of God" got the message.

Why must we be so trendy?
Nothing sinful about it...just so boring and predictable.
