My dear grandfather's favorite was "Amazing Grace" because he was saved as an adult and truly was a wretch! I always think of him when I hear it. I "walked the aisle" to "I Surrender All" and every time I sing it I can still feel God pushing me out of that pew and into that aisle! "I Saw the Cross of Jesus" is obscure but the words are stupendous. I can sing "The Old Rugged Cross" or "Victory in Jesus" and know I have worshipped, without even hearing a sermon! I don't feel like Easter if we don't sing "He Lives". And Christmas MUST have a soft singing of "Silent Night" preferably to candlelight. "It is Well" and "Holy, Holy, Holy" are so thought provoking, especially if you know the story behind "It is Well." My VERY favorite is "Blessed Assurance." What encouragement and love. Great stuff! I miss some of these old hymns.......we don't get to sing them enough.

Isn't it interesting how many hymns are tied up in family memories? That will be important to carry on with the children of today......Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36564514.post-1169490776397343242007-01-22T12:32:00.000-06:002007-01-22T12:32:00.000-06:00I think this is what you were looking for...Mine t...I think this is what you were looking for...
Mine too...
(Come Thou Fount)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36564514.post-1169483578117845062007-01-22T10:32:00.000-06:002007-01-22T10:32:00.000-06:00churchmouse,You are just making my day!
